| What is up with Tibet and people trying to boycott the 2008 Olympic games in China??? I was informed that it was a group of young rebellious people from Tibet who started this chaos and killed many innocent bystanders? What is up with all these American groups demanding that powerful political leaders boycott the games due to China's poor human rights??? Shouldn't the Americans first worry about what their own government's human rights problem before butting into other countries' business?? Aren't people aware that if the US and the European nations do decide the boycott the games that their relationship with China will be trouble since I assume that the Chinese government and millions of Chinese people around the world will be offended? Not to mention how what a dramatic impact it will be on the global economy.
I could be wrong with everything I just said but this is just what I got from all the talk in the news lately.
anyways, why do universities make you take useless classes that are not only a waste of your time and money but also the school's waste of resources. I hope I am wrong abouts this one day when I am out in the real world.

| I can't believe I am writing in this again. I think it is because I rather write in this than actually focus on physics homework. Then again, who wouldn't chose xanga over homework? can I get an "amen"? anyways...so Irvine yeah? it is quite sucky. The weather is too hot, the people are strange, and o yeah because it is NOT home, duh! I have started to compile a list of things I STRONGLY dislike about Irvine and it is as follows: - wayyyy too hot. when the weather reports says 85, it actually feels like 90+ for people who are use to cold weather (San Francisco *SIGHHH*) and expect it to feel like 90+ through out the day until perhaps after dinner. - people mock you when you tell them that you are not from around here, especially if you are from norcal. like "OMG! why do you guys say 'hella'? It doesn't make sense" and like "OMG! do you listen to bay music? like do you guys go hyphy?" and then there are the ones that say they are from San Francisco or around the bay area and when you ask them "O cool, what high school are you from?" they say "Well actually...I live about 2 hours from San Francisco in a place called _____ (name of city that I never heard of in my life)". WHY??? and FYI, the word "hella" makes a lot more sense than "grip". - Irvine cops are retarded. They have nothing to do so they give out tickets left and right. When they actually pull someone over, they need to call back up because in case of the tiny asian woman in the car will jump out and attack the two officers already there. They will also come knocking on your door at 1am in the morning to see if you are throwing a party when you really aren't. - Everything closes at 9pm and 7:30 on FRIDAYS. (except for yogurtland <3) - All the pho places are so far. =( - You can't get anywhere without a car. You could take the public transportation system, except you'll spend 90% of your time on the bus, which is probably why the OCTA (the oc's public transportation) didn't win for best service system in America after 2005. - the tapoica sucks here. is digusting. it shouldn't even have the honor of being called tapoica. - there is literally nothing to do in Irvine. NOTHING.
Okay, I may sound bitter about Irvine, which I am BUT I guess is not THAT bad. There are fun times and fun things to do around here. (haha as if you would really believe me now) o wow, I spent 15 minutes ranting about Irvine and I don't think it deserves any more of my time so goodbye! one more thing, the desert place "Guppy's" is HELLAAA good here.

| I just got out of women studies and finished watching a film called "Life and Debt". The video is a documentary about the KILLING OF CHILDREN in Brazil. Ever since 1824, Brazil has been loaning money from international bankers thus now the country is in debt. However, due to the increasing interest from the debt, the country finds itself stuck with more and more debt. Brazil has paid over 60 billion dollars in debt but the interest has caused them to have 100 billion dollars more. This large amount of debt from the government is being paid off by the people. Therefore, the people live in poverty; they have no clothes, food, and shelter. There is a scene in the movie where this baby boy is crying while his dad holds on to him and trying to comfort him because there is no food. The expression on the father's face is heartbreaking; you can tell he desperately wants to comfort his child but he is in no position to. As a result of the poverty, parents have no way of supporting their children so often the children wander in the streets. This causes a national problem for Brazil because the children resort to crime for survival. The small percent of wealthy businessman are concern with the crime therefore, they hire people to kidnap the children and take them to an certain location in order to be killed. This film is an eyeopener; these kids are only 9 or 10 but they are being killed. It is said that on average 4 kids are killed EACH DAY in Brazil. Why? because they MIGHT turn into a threat? do they want to live life through stealing? NO! In the film, some of the kids were interviewed and they had a vision where they can go to school, have proper clothes and eat health food. My purpose of writing this entry is to let more people be aware of the problem and I am sure this doesn't just occur in Brazil but in almost every third world country. Hopefully if more people are aware of it, we can do SOMETHING about it. I know most of my readers are probably my age or younger and we think we can't do anything or we are limited to what we actually can do. However, I think as long as people KNOW what is going on, it is better than being clueless. thanks for reading! spread the news!
